The All Twitter 15

In my endless quest for more insight to international rugby, I thought it would be fun to decided on an All Twitter 15, giving credit to the hardest tweeting rugby players out there. The basic criteria for making the team is:

1. Must have at least one international cap.

2. Must have an active Twitter profile.

3. The quality and quantity of their tweets. Inside info, humor, and photos/video are valued.

Please Tweet me any ideas for the missing positions, or for better selections! Cheers!

15. Fullback

Cory Jane
New Zealand
User name: Soup15

Cory Jane is one of the most entertaining and hardest tweet'n players out there. He posts lots of photos, has his own Inside Scoop with Soup video interviews, but you just have to check out his live video streams. How many rugby players will moon walk in their bedroom live on the Internet if requested? His wife joins in on the fun too, follow her at: CassiusTennyson

14. Wing

Bryan Habana
South Africa
User name: Bryan_HabanaNot so many tweets yet, but is coming on strong. Posts photos and makes entertaining tweets, but come on... admit it, everything this guy does is great, even if it is just eating ribs.

11. Wing

Ugo Monye
England
User name: ugomonye
Tweets very often and loves to banter with his mates. Uploads photos and lets you know all the cool stuff he is up to. On the field the man is as serious as they come, but on Twitter he is a real Teddy Bear.

Flankers and Number 8

This is where I need some help. Anybody know any players to fit into 6, 7, or 8? There has to be some. Help. Tweet me.

After searching, I found Bobby Skinstad. So we have a number 8 for now, although we can move him to 6 or 7 if we have to.

5. Lock

Paul O'Connell
Ireland
User name: Paul_OConnellWith only 32 Tweets, the man has more than 4,000 followers. Makes good comments, would like to see him get more into posting pics.

I would like to see Ali Williams get into the starting 2nd row. He has great tweeting potential, as he has such a good sense of humor. Encourage him at: AliWilliams_

4. Lock

Victor Matfield
South Africa
User name: VictorMatfield

I figure that locks are fair to switch back and forth from 4 to 5, so I will put Victor Matfield here at 4. A great player and a great twitter. He doesn't twit too much, but when he does it is usually cool stuff. Things like: Flying to Dubai for the weekend for the opening of the new Gary Player course. You get the feeling that Victor lives a nice life and is a great family man as well.

3. Tighthead Prop

Neemia Tialata
New Zealand
User name: neyza3
This was an easy choice. Neyza is the Twitter King. The man tweets ALL the time. Photos are uploaded almost daily. Plus he has Twitter lunches with his followers, and live streams video. I am proud to say that Neyza is responsible for me even using twitter. He was also my first follower. My own sister wouldn't even follow me, but an All Black would!

Apart from being the Twitter King, he is also a super nice guy.

Why not make him the captain?

Runner up at tighthead is Adam Jones, the Wales legend. Lets make him a reserve. Check him out : adamjones3

2. Hooker

John Smit
South Africa
User name: JohnSmit123I know, I know, I know, Smit plays prop now. He used to be a hooker. Somebody please hook me up with a 100% hooker and we will switch.

John Smit is a great Twitter just the same. The man has 4,350 plus followers. He uploads pics all the time, including things like people holding babies out of moving cars. He has a nice mix of rugby and his home life. He is absolutely worth following.

Any ideas on a hooker? We can have Smit battle Neyza and Adam Jones for his true position.

1. Loosehead Prop

Tendai Mtawarira. The Beast.
South Africa
Twitter User name: No1Beast
I know that this is a surprise pick, but the truth of the matter is that there are very few Loosehead props who tweet....I think. Does anybody know any others? The Beast only has 16 tweets, but he has 700 plus followers. He also tweeted that he missed his fiancée, that was super cute coming from the beast.

I thought about Os du Randt, (user name osdurandt), who has lots more tweets but has been missing since December of last year.

For now, the Beast takes the honor.
